Valentine's Themed Nails

I don't really get my nails done. Aside from how much it costs, I was always afraid of having my nails ruined, becoming really weak and looking flat and paper thin. It almost happened a few months ago when I tried dip powder, I wasn't aware of the removal process. Apparently, it gets drilled off and they started drilling before I could react. Unfortunately, I don't really speak up, so I just let it happen. At the end, my nails were all super uneven with distinct dips in the middle of all my nails! I will never do that again.

I only recently decided to try again, but a different option to avoid any drilling in the future. This go-around, I tried Shellac. I found a cute reference photo from pinterest of a heart theme for this month, that I wanted to get, but I made a shape change on the purple because I wasn't a fan of the straight across that looks like the nails were just dipped in the polish.

This will be maybe the third or fourth time ever that I had gotten my nails done at a nail salon. I went back to the only salon that I have actually ever had good experiences at, Paloma Beauty. The front desk is always super friendly and happy. The staff all acknowledge you and give you happy hellos, as well as offer you drinks (water, wine, or espresso) while you're getting your nails done.

These new nails make me feel better to try different designs every month, since now I have a go-to salon and type of polish that I'm happy with, without getting them drilled off or ruining my own nail beds. I am very happy with how cute and feminine this design came out. I tend to lean more towards matte coat instead of glossy, but I think thick this worked out perfectly for the style. Here is how my nails came out:
